We provide all services relating to structural engineering of buildings.
While these services can range widely, there are many industry standard deliverables. We have collated a list of such deliverables and indicative prices to help you plan your budget.
We pride ourselves in providing upfront transparency on our lump sum and hourly cost rates. These are applied consistently across all projects, allowing us to treat all our clients equally and fairly. Engineering work is complex and often evolves with the project. Pricing Notes:
1. Service fee for your project is subject to confirmation upon review of your specific scope of work. Please request fee proposal above.
2. New design includes primary gravity and lateral support structure and selected secondary structural elements. Primary structure includes foundation, main columns, beams, floors, walls and braces. We will define these items specific to your project in our fee proposal. Tertiary structure, i.e. seismic restraints of services, structural support of architectural elements is not included due to the varying nature of their scope in each project. The prices listed do not include variations raised during the course of the design.
3. For residential projects, the fee includes only two iterations, preliminary design and final consent package. For commercial, industrial and public structures, the price includes all typical phases, concept, preliminary, developed and detailed.
4. Initial seismic assessment price is based on approximate design/built date of the structure being provided to us.
5. Detailed seismic assessment price is based on full structural drawings of existing building being provided to us. In the case where you do not have these available, intrusive inspections are required to understand the structure better. The scope of this work can only be established after an initial visual site inspection. The intrusive inspection work can be carried out on Time and Expense basis9.
6. We will only engage in seismic strengthening work if we have undertaken a detailed seismic assessment (DSA) of the structure for you previously. This is because we need to verify the existing structural capacity independently. The extent of strengthening required can vary for each structure, however we can provide an estimate of the cost at completion of the DSA.
7. Peer review fee allows for only one-off review of primary gravity and lateral structure consent level documentation. Please request a specific fee proposal if you require more than one phase of documentation to be reviewed.
8. The cost of these items is dependent on scope of work. An estimate of the cost can be provided once this scope is known.
9. Time and Expense cost is $200/hour plus GST.
10. We reserve the right to accept a job based on availability of time and the risk associated with the project.
11. All prices shown are GST and disbursements exclusive. These items will be added separately, as incurred.
12. We reserve the right to update/modify/change this pricing schedule anytime.
13. Public buildings include educational facilities, hospitals, libraries, airports, sports facilities etc.
